April 2003 - Plant of the Month

Rhododendron ‘April Mist’

Rhododendron ‘April Mist’

Type: Semi-evergreen shrub
Height: 4-5
Hardiness: Zone 4-9
Light requirements: Part shade
Bloom Color: Very light pink w/lavender

An very early blooming Rhododendron that is good for the cold northeast. When kept protected from winter wind and sun, April Mist will be covered with delightfully dainty light pink blooms in late April to early May. Will hold its foliage through most winters in the proper location. Like a slightly moist, well drained, acid soil.
