Kolkwitzia
amabilis (Caprifoliaceae family) is a deciduous shrub from Hupeh, China
which grows to 12 feet. Named after Prof. Richard Kolkwitz of Berlin.
Introduced by Wilson for Messrs. Veitch in 1901. 'Pink Cloud' was raised by
the RHS at Wisley in 1946 from seed received from the Morton Arboretum.
Extremely floriferous.
