Hydrangea arborescens
'Invincibelle Spirit'

INVINCIBELLE Spirit hydrangea is the world's first every pink Annabelle. Unlike other selections it continues to produce new flowers right up until frost. It is very hardy and easy to grow.  Unlike many hydrangeas, the flower buds are produced on new wood, so it will still produce flowers even if the stems die back to the ground by extreme weather.

It is useful as a specimen, mass planting or incorporated perennial gardens or into a woodland setting.  The blooms are extremely attractive both in the landscape and as a cut flower. It is a durable choice for both fresh and dried arrangements.

More New Roses

Rosa 'Polar Joy'

For the first time ever, zone 4 and 5 gardeners can enjoy an everblooming tree rose that's more than an annual in the garden. First Editions™ Polar Joy™ is the newest innovation to come from Bailey Nurseries' award-winning rose breeding program. This unique tree rose was developed specifically for Northern gardeners.
"We're really excited about the versatility this plant offers to Northern gardeners", says Pat Bailey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Bailey Nurseries. "Polar Joy is truly hardy to zone 4. We've tested these roses through three Minnesota winters and they perform beautifully year after year. They're as easy to grow as any other tree or shrub. "
If you love the look of a flowering rose, Polar Joy offers even more to love, supplying soft pink blossoms all summer long atop a 3' to 6' stem.
Polar Joy's beautiful blooms and medium green foliage make it a wonderful vertical accent in the garden. It is perfect planted with low-growing roses and other perennials, or as a stunning entryway accent in either the ground or planted in a container.

Gingo biloba 'Saratoga'

Branches are densely packed with yellow-green leaves. The leaves are relatively long and narrow; they split part way into the middle. It is a slow growing male with a very desirable form that is both rounded and slightly conical. It grows to about 5-8 feet in ten years. Fall color is particularly bold and beautiful.

Commonly called the Maidenhair tree, Ginkgo has become one of the most widely planted trees in the United States. Attractive in all seasons, this deciduous tree with leathery, fan-shaped leaves has a consistent symmetrical form and outstanding fall color. It is long-lived, drought resistant, tolerates pollution, and is very strong. In fact, Ginkgo was the only tree to survive the atomic attack on Hiroshima, where it is now part of a shrine commemorating the disaster.

Ginkgo is a slow grower but transplants well in large sizes. Feed it heavily with a balanced fertilizer and water it regularly to help accelerate growth. Although it can reach 100 feet tall, most ginkgoes mature in the 35 to 50 foot range.

More New Fruit Trees

                      Pyrus 'Hosui'

Hosui Asian Pear is an attractive fruit with golden russeted skin. It's flesh is firm, juicy, sweet, and mildly flavored with good quality. Trees are vigorous and spreading. Ripens from mid-August to late September depending on location.

Hosui can grow quite large fruit if thinned properly. Because it is an attractive russet, bronze color, be careful not to harvest it before it is truly mature, late in the summer about the same time as Twentieth Century.

Much Water" is the English translation of Hosui. Hosui was introduced in Japan in 1972 and is popular in the US
