Featured Plants

Clematis (KLEM-a-tis) is in the Ranuncilaceae (buttercup) family. The work is from Greek meaning "vine". This genus includes approximately 250 species and numerous other garden hybrids. It is a vaied genus, made up of mostly woody, deciduous climbing plants. There is great variety in flower form, color, bloom season, foliage effect and plant height, making it a spectacular grouping of vining plants for one and all.

Hydrangea arborescens 'Invincibelle Spirit' is the first ever pink flowered 'Annabelle' Hydrangea. This easy to grow Hydrangea blooms year after year -- even in the coldest of climates. 'Invincibelle Spirit' is as hardy and adaptable as 'Annabelle' but produces an abundance of hot pink flowers from early summer to frost.

Endless Summer® Hydrangea is a perpetual flowering big-leaf Hydrangea that blooms virtually all season long. And because Endless Summer® can flower repeatedly on new wood, you can be confident that regardless of whether the plant dies back to the crown  or if you trim it at the wrong time, you'll still get wonderful flowers in that growing season.

Chris' Lilac Collection has been growing at his house in West Newbury, VT for over 10 years. As you can see, it is an extensive compilation of the Genus Syringa, over 165 varieties in all! We are pleased to be able to let you view a portion of his special treasures. We at E. C. Browns’ Nursery do not carry all of these varieties. Some are rare, others are difficult to grow, and some just aren’t propagated any more. Enjoy the photos and let us know if there are ones that may interest you.

Chris’ Rose Collection at his house in West Newbury, VT. These are all roses that have survived for years in a Zone 4a climate. When Chris grows a rose, he is looking for two main criteria: hardiness and fragrance. Many of these roses have both. We at E. C. Browns’ Nursery have some, but not all of these roses. Enjoy.
