Extra large pear that is yellow with a slight red blush. Very smooth flesh, juicy and excellent mild flavor. Great for fresh eating, cooking or canning. Good tolerance to fire blight. Ripens mid to late August.

For quick desserts the Moonglow pear is ideal. The high quality of the Moonglow pear is apparent from fresh eating and the pleasant fruity aroma.

Malus 'Chestnut'

A vigorous, hardy crabapple that makes pleasant "chestnut" flavored jam. Large 2" reddish yellow fruit. Often used as a disease resistant pollinator for apples. Produces large white flowers in spring, growing to a height of 20 feet.

 The Chestnut Crabapple blooms in early to mid-May. It has a pleasant nut-like flavor. It produces a very large crabapple, up to 2" in diameter that ripens in early September. Outstanding flavor and good texture for fresh eating as well as being a pollinator. A very hardy plant with a medium storage life. It usually has a partially russeted skin and hangs well on the tree. It is a very productive annual bearer, and is loaded with white blooms in the bloom stage. The fruit quality holds well on the tree, being quite spritely at first and becoming sweeter later on. An excellent pollinator for other fruit apples.

Best known Asian pear.  Tree is of moderate vigor, upright and productive. Fruit is green to greenish yellow, smooth with some lenticels.  Fruit size is medium (9-14 oz.). 

Flesh is white, firm, crisp, very juicy and sweet with a refreshing tartness.  Fruit quality is good to very good.    Stores about 5 months.  Ripens in mid September.  Also known as 20th Century.
